POLA MUSEUM OF ART

The POLA MUSEUM OF ART operates under the concept of "the symbiosis of Hakone's nature and art." It opened in Sengokuhara in 2002 with a core collection of 10,000 items collected by Tsuneshi Suzuki, the second generation of the Pola founding family.

Don't miss the "Forest Promenade" where you can feel the nature of the four seasons

Its collection of Western paintings, centered on Impressionist masters such as Monet and Renoir, is considered one of the largest in Japan. In addition to works by Van Gogh, Picasso, and Leonard Foujita, it also houses many works by Japanese painters such as Yasushi Sugiyama, Seiki Kuroda, and Saburosuke Okada. In recent years, it has also focused on collecting and exhibiting excellent works by contemporary artists such as Gerhard Richter and Roni Horn.
