Chisuji Falls

Hidden within the serene forests of Kowakudani, Chisuji Falls is a gentle, curtain-like waterfall stretching about 20–25 meters in width and 3 meters in height. Countless thin streams flow delicately over moss‑covered rocks, creating the distinctive “thousand lines” appearance that inspired its name. The quiet sound of water and the cool air filled with negative ions make it a soothing spot for a refreshing break.

The surrounding forest showcases seasonal beauty—from vibrant green in spring to colorful foliage in autumn, and even fireflies in early summer near the clear Jakotsu River. The waterfall’s path is part of several hiking routes, making it easy to enjoy nature along the way. Benches in front of the falls offer a tranquil place to rest and enjoy the scenery.

Chisuji Falls is accessible on foot from Kowakudani Station or from the Hōraien bus stop, making it an ideal stop for a relaxing nature walk in Hakone.
